And the winning class is:
7th GRADERS! Final standings as of 12/6: 6th grade - 1,066 Points 7th grade - 8,594 points 8th grade - 920 points Most importantly, CAA 6 - 8th graders raised $282.10 to purchase groceries to provide Christmas meals for QC families in need. A small group of 8th Grade Ambassadors will accompany Jeri Chandler to purchase these supplies next week! "You all did amazing, and I'm so excited for the Christmas meals that you will be able to provide. To the 7th grade group, you will get your pizza party before Christmas break!" - Jeri Chandler, PTA Secretary We had our most engaged year with Festival of Trees this year! First, our CAA 8th Grade Communication & Media Arts Students collaborated with Quad City Art to help cover the event by creating social media posts in the form of videos and graphics. They posted about the many attractions, behind the scenes, volunteers, display awards, and much more! Next, all grades of CAA dancers hit the Festival stage to perform on November 30!
Finally, a group of our 8th grade Ambassadors joined QC Arts staff and other volunteers to take down Festival of Trees. The trees must be packaged so they can be shipped properly and without damage to those who purchased them. Thank you to Olivia, Charlie, Laney, Maya, Lola, Chris, Anastasia, Shaylynn, Ellianna, and Isabel for your volunteerism. We received many compliments from QC Arts about your hard work and professionalism. On Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22, seven CAA 8th graders performed as part of the LoveGirls Magazine's annual Girls on Fire Conference.
Zoey and Maya sang and played the ukulele to the song "Scars to Your Beautiful" while and Abigail turned the poetry of Rupi Kaur into beautiful monologues about the female experience. Finally, a trio of dancers including Mackenzie, Laney, and Claire performed to "Salute" as a tribute to women in the military. |
